Proloda Driver Pay Information

Version 1, effective October 26, 2026.

This document explains how Proloda calculates and pays for the deliveries you make with the Proloda Driver app, how work is offered to you, and how ratings work. It is the written information Ontario's Digital Platform Workers' Rights Act, 2022 requires, and it applies to every driver. The Driver Services Agreement describes the rest of the relationship between you and Moatett Rapid Haul Canada LP.

1. How your pay is calculated

Every delivery has a price the customer agrees to before booking. Your pay is calculated from the part of that price before sales tax.

  • The delivery price. It is made of the vehicle fare, the distance charge, the loading and unloading fee, a fee for each stop between the pickup and the final destination and, at busy times, a peak surcharge.
  • Fixed fees. Proloda first keeps its service fee and, for a delivery booked for later, its scheduling fee.
  • Commission. Proloda then keeps a percentage of what remains as its commission. The percentage that applies to a delivery is fixed when the customer receives the quote, and a later change never applies to a delivery already quoted.
  • Your share. What is left after the commission is yours.

Before you accept a delivery, the offer shows your estimated pay for it: your share of the delivery price. Payment for waiting time and extra distance is added after the delivery is completed.

2. Waiting time and extra distance

All of what customers pay for waiting time and extra distance is yours. Proloda keeps no commission on it.

  • Waiting time. Waiting is counted from your arrival at a stop until loading or unloading starts, and added up across every stop, the pickup included. The first 5 minutes in total are free. After that the customer pays for each minute at the rate fixed in the quote.
  • Extra distance. When the distance driven is longer than the quoted distance by more than the allowed margin, and the app has measured the route reliably, the customer pays for every kilometre beyond the quoted distance at the vehicle type's rate per kilometre fixed in the quote.

Your earnings screen shows, for every delivery, your share of the delivery price and the amount for waiting time and extra distance.

3. Tips

The Proloda apps do not offer tipping, so no tips are collected or kept. If tipping is added, you will receive written notice first, and every tip will be paid to you in full.

4. Cancellations

When a customer cancels after the free cancellation period has ended, after you have arrived, or does not show up, the customer may be charged a cancellation fee. You then receive the share of that fee before sales tax that was fixed when the customer received the quote. When Proloda resolves a cancellation and decides you should be paid for it, you receive the amount it decides.

Outside Ontario, your share is paid 72 hours after the customer pays the fee. For Ontario work, it is paid when the customer pays the fee, and if the customer has not paid it by the end of the pay period, Proloda pays it to you itself.

5. When you are paid

  • When pay is earned. Your share of a delivery is added to your earnings when the delivery is completed. If the customer's payment for the delivery, for waiting time or for extra distance fails, you are still paid.
  • Payouts. Your earnings are paid to the bank account you set up in the app every Monday.
  • Pay period. A pay period ends each Sunday at noon, Toronto time.
  • Bank timing. Your bank may take a few business days to show a payout.

6. Ontario work

A delivery whose pickup or final destination is in Ontario is Ontario work. Everything you earn for Ontario work in a pay period is paid by the Monday after the period ends. Proloda does not hold or reduce that pay, does not take it back, and does not deduct from it to cover refunds, disputes, amounts a customer did not pay or amounts you owe, unless a law or a court order requires it.

7. Work outside Ontario

For other work, the Driver Services Agreement applies. In particular:

  • Reviews of cancellation pay. When a cancellation looks unusual, for example when a location reading looks wrong, your share of the cancellation fee can be held while a person reviews it. A decision is made within 48 hours, or the hold is released. You are told when pay is held, and you can ask for a person to review the decision in the app.
  • Refunds. When a customer is refunded for a problem with a delivery, Proloda may adjust your pay for that delivery. You are told when this happens.
  • Amounts you owe. An amount you owe Proloda under the Driver Services Agreement can be deducted from your pay.

8. How work is offered

  • Deliveries booked for now. A delivery booked for now is offered to drivers who are online, whose active vehicle is the vehicle type the customer chose, and who are near the pickup, starting with the closest. Each offer goes to one driver at a time and expires after 60 seconds. If no one accepts, the search widens.
  • Deliveries booked for later. A delivery booked for later is listed on the scheduled board for drivers near its pickup whose active vehicle is its vehicle type, and any of them can accept it.
  • Recent cancellations. If you cancelled a delivery for a customer in the last 24 hours, you are not offered that customer's next delivery booked for now.
  • What is not used. Your ratings, and the offers you decline or let expire, do not change which offers you receive.

9. Ratings

  • How you are rated. After a delivery is completed, the customer can rate you from 1 to 5 within seven days. A rating of 3 or less comes with a reason. You can rate the customer the same way.
  • What counts. A rating does not count when all of its reasons are outside your control, such as a problem with the app, the price or a long wait for a driver.
  • Your rating. Your rating is the average of your newest 100 ratings that count. It is updated once a day and shown once you have 10 ratings that count.
  • Appeals. You can appeal a rating in the app within 30 days, and a person reviews it.
  • Consequences. Ratings do not change your pay or the offers you receive.

10. Removal from the platform

Proloda gives you its reasons in writing when it removes your access. Unless the removal is for wilful misconduct, a safety concern or a legal requirement, you receive two weeks' written notice before it takes effect.

11. Taxes

  • Sales tax. Proloda charges customers sales tax and remits it. Sales tax is never part of the amount your pay is calculated from.
  • Your registration. Whether you must register for the GST or HST depends on your own situation, and a tax professional can advise you.
  • Income tax. You are responsible for reporting your earnings and paying your own income tax.
  • Reporting. As a digital platform operator, Proloda reports what it pays you to the Canada Revenue Agency for each year and gives you a copy in the app. The app asks for the tax details this reporting needs.

12. Changes to this information

Proloda gives you written notice in the app and by email before a change to this information takes effect. The notice describes the change and says when it takes effect.
